Caste based Reservation

Hi guys,
I am back. This time not with my past boring experience but with the one which I feel needs to be changed in India – Reservation Quotas.
Indian constitution is one of the oldest one which I think needs to be changed, not the complete one but some part of it. The most important one among it is Cased based reservation. I am not of the opinion that the reservation has to be completely demolished but needs to be overhauled.
The reservation based on caste was introduced soon after independence. During those days, caste discrimination is more and only the people from high castes hold the office. So, it was necessary for reservation in education and government offices based on castes during those days so that the low profile people will have a chance to widen and explore. But things have been rapidly changed after that. We had dalit and the person from minority community as our presidents, even our honourable PM is from minority community. Today, options are wide open in this developing economy and now we have grown up as a twelfth largest economy and second fastest growing economy in the world. Still, we are following the same old principles and policies which were framed 60 years ago for their times.
The government should up open up their minds and work on the welfare of the people not on welfare of their party or power. In this modern day anyone can become anyone. Nowadays, there are Entrepreneurs from lower social group and higher social group labours in India, then why the reservations based on caste? I am talking neither in favour of higher social group nor against lower social group people. In my view, both of them should be treated equally as an Indian citizen not as an individual based on their castes.
I am not of the opinion to completely demolish the reservation system. The reservation in education or in government offices is must as poverty is still a major concern in this second fastest growing economy. In order to overcome this obstacle (Poverty), India needs to change its policies. The reservation system should be based on the Poverty level of an individual. With current reservation policy, a rich low caste person with mediocre in studies can get the admission in the top college in the country but not the poor high class brilliant person. The rich can get good education and secure job irrespective of his caste but the poor one suffers
Here I would like to give you an example how the current reservation system ruins the brilliant guy who belongs to higher social group and is poor. Because of this kind of reservation system, there are many chances that the rich mediocre low caste guy can indirectly spoil the life of a brilliant underprivileged student. The student from the low social group is rich but average in his studies can afford to join any top college of his choice using his money but the underprivileged brahmin guy who is good in studies needs to work hard in order to get the admission in good college. This rich has taken the place of the poor guy in this case, thanks to reservation policy in india where a rich guy with 70% of marks can get into the college with low fee/scholarship where the poor guy with 95% can’t get. The rich guy like his school days is average or below average in studies and after attaining his degree from the top college will join good paid job or look after his dad’s business which he could have done without his degree or degree from low profile college and the poor guy after his studies get into some low profile job for his bread and butter and remains poor throughout his life. It reminds me of a movie dialogue “Rich getting richer and poor getting poorer”.
In order to overcome this hindrance, the reservation system based on the poverty level should be implemented where the reservations should be given to the people from below poverty level. By this method, all poor people in India will have access to the education and employment irrespective of the caste. I hope the government one day will act on it and demolish the caste based reservation and reframe it on the basis of poverty for the welfare of the people. Soon after, India will become the biggest economy of the world. That day is not too far. Lets hope for the best.
